Why does God say no to my prayers?

I’ve been praying diligently for a long time about some really important things in my life – my sick child’s recovery, financial stability after losing my job, and reconciliation with my estranged spouse. I try to pray with faith, confessing my sins, and seeking God’s will, but I still haven’t seen the answers I’m hoping for. It feels like I’m constantly met with silence, or worse, the opposite of what I’m asking for. Why does God say no to my prayers, even when I’m praying about things that seem genuinely good and necessary? Is there something wrong with my prayers, my faith, or even myself that’s preventing God from answering? And if so, how can I change that and understand what God wants from me in these situations?

Heavenly Father, I come before you with a heavy heart, wrestling with a question that echoes in my soul: Why does God say no to my prayers?

I know you are a loving and merciful God, and I believe you hear my cries. Yet, there are times when my prayers seem to bounce off the ceiling, unanswered, and my heart aches with confusion.

Is it because I have asked amiss, seeking things that are not in line with your will? Help me, Lord, to purify my desires and align my requests with your perfect plan for my life. Show me where my motives are selfish or misguided.

Is it because the timing is not right? Grant me patience and trust, knowing that your timing is always perfect, even when it feels agonizingly slow. Teach me to wait on you with unwavering faith.

Is it because you have something better in store for me, something I cannot even imagine? Open my eyes to see the bigger picture, to understand that your "no" may be a protection, a redirection towards a path I could not have chosen myself.

Help me to accept your will, even when it is difficult to understand. Fill me with your peace that surpasses all understanding, and grant me the strength to continue praying with hope and unwavering faith.

Remind me that even in silence, you are present. Even in unanswered prayers, you are working. Even in disappointment, you are loving.
