have you ever laughed in the face of danger there was a woman who scoffed at the promise of god she said “i’ve waited for the messiah but i’ll wait no longer i’m too old to have children it’s too late.” and so she laughed but as she laughed something extraordinary happened the walls of her heart which had been hard and cold began to crumble and in that moment she felt something new something warm and alive it was the holy spirit you see god had not brought her to laughter he just allowed it he let her laugh because he knew she would soon be filled with something far greater than laughter a joy that only he could bring many years later this woman now old and gray was sitting in a rocking chair when she heard the laughter of children playing outside and she smiled for in that moment she knew that god had not forgotten his promise even when it seemed too late for her to have children he had brought her to laughter and in that laughter he had given her a new life
